What’s involved in a Brazilian bikini wax?
You will be asked to remove your clothes from the waist down. Your underwear needs to be removed to do the job correctly. While you may be feeling a bit modest your first time, you'll have to drop ‘em if you want a Brazilian. This is not a service for shy people. But fear not, Val is very personable and will make you feel comfortable and carefree with her warm, chatty nature and music to distract you. Like your doctor, Val has literally "seen it all", and lots of them, so it's just another day at the wax pot for her. Most likely you look like everybody else down there, so don't worry!
This service sometimes requires your participation in positioning your body so Val can remove your hair. She will tell you what to do.
Warm wax will be applied to an area of your skin. Val uses both strip wax and hard wax, depending on the area she is working. With the soft wax, a smooth fabric strip is placed over waxed area and ripped off. The hair is removed by a brisk tug. With the hard wax, it is the same procedure, but without the cloth strip. This process is continued until the shape you prefer is created or your pubic area is hair-free. Any remaining hair's are plucked with tweezer's. Please be sure your hair is a MINIMUM of 1/4 " long, because excessive short hairs will not be tweezed. It is your responsibility to arrive with hair that is long enough to wax.

Does It Hurt?
This service is not as painful as one would expect. Don't schedule a wax the week before your period, as this is when your body is at its most sensitive and the ouch factor will be at its greatest. If you choose to come during your period, please use a tampon, and wash your "parts" before your appointment, please.
How often should I return to maintain?
Every 5-7 weeks is best. Keeping up with your wax will insure that the hairs stay thin, and your appointments will be quicker and less painful when the hair has not had much of a chance to really grow in.
Brazilian waxing Do's and Don'ts:
Do Exfoliate - One of the hazards of waxing is ingrown hair, which can be difficult to prevent due to the random direction of hair growth. Hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, electrolysis, often irritate the hair follicle. Dead cells can accumulate at the site of the irritation and form papule which can also contain pus while the skin heals. While this process continues any hair in the area can get trapped under the formation and is prevented from exiting the skin properly. Ingrown hair is the result.
The best solution for this problem is not using those round puffs you buy at the drug store; they don't work. Tend Skin is a proven topical treatment that should be applied to the waxed area on a daily basis. It will prevent ingrown hairs, and heal old spots from ingrowns. (you cannot use Tend Skin if you have an aspirin allergy)
Do arrive prepared – Please clean yourself, the entire area front to back (don't forget we might be waxing your bum!) before your appointment if possible. We keep sanitary wipes on hand if you are not able to clean before arriving.
Do understand and know that although we take all precautions to insure a comfortable waxing experience for you, sometimes waxing can result in skin irritation due to factors such as hormonal changes, medications, stress, edema, etc... By agreeing to a waxing service, you assume all risks involved such as over-exfoliation, skin irritation, skin loss, redness, swelling, and sensitivity.
Do relax – Yes, easier said than done, but the more relaxed you are, the easier it will be to pull the hair out, and the less pain it will cause. Take a deep breath, lie back, and think about how great you're going to look!
Don't go tanning before your appointment.
Don't come with hair that is shorter than 1/4" in length. Otherwise we will not be able to wax you and you will be turned away.
We are committed to your health and safety; we have a firm "no double dipping policy"! Clean disposable sticks are used for each application of wax.
